Notes

"Notes" is a series sparked by the inclusion of text within art. Initially made to challenge my standards of art: I use scraps of paper, trash, or other miscellaneous materials. The product is something of an experiment and a statement. More like side notes or notes to self, each proclaim or relate to a thought, idea, or lesson that has become prominent in my life during the time that the work is created. While some statements are more obvious and out right, others are less so. The visibility or decipher-ability of the text often playing on how comfortable I am with sharing the messages. The act of putting personal messages on works compiled of scraps of waste challenges my idea of worth and self-importance.
